Master animator/author/teacher, Tony White, has been slowly developing his own course on animation and production for the 2D ACADEMY and is now ready to launch it live and online on August 18th 2020! The class is taught from a hand-drawn perspective, yet its essential foundational material is perfect for 3D, Stop-frame, Claymation or any other form of animation too. (Note: You don't have to draw well to attend ~ you just have to love to draw!) Full details below.
Check out the following compilation of Tony presenting his "Drawing for Animation" class (much of which is included in this new live online program) when he last taught it in a classroom. (Remember those days?)...

Instructor: Tony White is a British Academy Award winning animator, author and teacher. He ran his own successful animation studio in London for 20 years and has taught at the highest level for 15 years since moving to the USA in 1998. Tony is founder of the 2D ACADEMY, the ANIMAKERS club community network and the DRAWTASTIC Animation Festival. So far Tony has written 5 very successful books on animation, some of which have been translated into several languages and are used as core textbooks in schools and colleges around the world.
Tony's internationally recognized textbooks on animation.
Tony's live online foundational classes in animation currently run from 6.00pm - 8.30pm* (Pacific Time) each Tuesday evening, starting on August 18th, 2020. Although students enrolling late can be offered catch-up arrangements if required.
* Note: High school credit students are required to attend an additional 30 minutes per class to qualify for their full credit hours.
This is a comprehensive 4 Module foundational Certificate program. The first 6 months will cover the core principles of movement, while the second 6 months will cover the essentials of animation pre-production as well as production. Although the classes focus on hand-drawn animation for its teaching, students do NOT have to be good at drawing to participate ~ although a love for drawing is recommended, as there'll be a lot of drawing to do within the course.
Classes are live & online, with students having the option of creating their assignments using traditional pencil & paper methods, a digital software approach or even using simple flipbooks. Instruction will be given in the 1st class on how this can be done and the equipment required.
