Tony White is a veteran master animator who has spent a lifetime creating outstanding (and often award-winning) TV Commercials, Short Films, TV Specials and Movie Titles. Tony's respected textbooks on animation are translated into several languages and are used as textbooks throughout the world. Tony currently runs a "Tuesday Night Live' online course for young animators teaching them the core principles of movement and the pre-production and production processes of animated filmmaking. However, now Tony wants to share his lifetime of knowledge and experience in animated filmmaking with others - and will invite top industry professionals to help him do it...

THE NEW COURSE:

Teaching the time-honored process of proven animation production is hard to find. Numerous courses about animation (many of which are more misleading than constructive) are out there, and some material on producing for animation is available. But it is virtually impossible to find a step-by-step course on how animators can create films with their skills - starting  from the inception of an idea, all the way through to the final project completion. Tony's course does that using a 24 class, live online approach - effectively 12 weeks for pre-production and 12 weeks for full production. At the end of the program students should come out of it with an excellent short film of their own ideas. Something that they can be proud of - and which Tony can be proud of too!

TIMES & DATES:

The new class will be held on Thursday night class - from 6:00 - 8:00pm (PST) - starting on (to be announced), 2021 and lasting for 24 weeks.  (International students need not be put off by the Pacific cost timing, as Tony will record each live class and post it into a private classroom for students to access and review the next day.) Tony will teach the foundations of the course material himself but will invite specialists from the industry to compliment this with their own expertise in the particular subject being covered. Students will then be required to submit their work on a weekly basis - after which Tony will revue and mentor their submitted work. That way the quality of their film work will remain strong in all it's aspects of it's creation.

COURSE STRUCTURE:

"How To Make Animated Films" is broken down into 2 separate sections, each lasting 12 weeks. The first section focuses on "Pre-Production", preparing students comprehensively for their film's full production process. The second section focuses entirely on the successful "Production" of the student's film. At this second stage, Tony will also mentor each student on their animation too - ensuring that the quality of their film's content and presentation is maximized. PREREQUISITES:

This course is open to all students of animation - traditional 2D, digital 2D, 3D, Stop frame, Claymation, etc. Consequently, students will be required to own their own tools and techniques to do the work. The only prerequisite of the course is that the students should also understand the rudiments of animation.

It should be fully understood that this course does NOT teach software nor foundational animation techniques. However, in the process of guiding students through the various production stages of animated filmmaking, Tony will mentor students from an artistic and/or animation polishing point of view.

PRICING:

The cost for each 24-week "live and online" course is $1,800. Tony wrote, designed, directed and animated "The Pink Panther Strikes Again" movie titles for the
Richard Williams Studio in London. The titles went on to win a prestigious D&AD Silver Award.

"HOKUSAI ~ An Animated Sketchbook" was Tony's first animated short.
It went on to win a BAFTA Award in the UK as the "Best Short Film" of the year!

"Revenge of the Fly" ~ Originally created for the Seattle International Film Festival for their annual "Fly Film Challenge".
Tony subsequently turned it into an independent, 1-minute short film, so it could be enjoyed in festivals worldwide.
